In yesterday's post we looked at multiplication, both two-digit and by 10 or 100. Today we are still within Reporting Category 2, Computations and Algebraic Relationships, learning how to about multiplication and division multi-step problems and long division.
Long Division
The moment 4th graders have been waiting for - the long division algorithm. Though briefly introduced to it in 3rd grade, this is the year that students commit the steps to divide numbers to memory. Here's a short video to help you remember as well.

Two-Step Multiplication and Division Problems
In the third grade, students are asked to not only add addition and subtraction problems but also to represent them with equations and pictorial models, including strip diagrams. Watch the video below for more information.
